Indigenous Employees

The Northern Territory Government values the unique skills and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – Indigenous Australians - and is committed to providing equal access to jobs in the Northern Territory Public Sector.

Indigenous Australians represent more than 30 per cent of the Northern Territory population but only 7.7 per cent of the Northern Territory Public Sector workforce (as at 30 June 2008). The Northern Territory Government will improve the participation rate of Indigenous people through its recruitment practices, career development and retention of Indigenous people.
