Appeals & Grievances

Appeal and grievance review processes provide employees with the opportunity to seek independent consideration of actions or decisions by agencies.

Relevant legislation can be accessed from the Public Sector Employment and Management Act:

Objectives

  • to handle all appeals and reviews in accordance with principles of merit, equity and natural justice;
  • to provide impartial advice and assistance on all enquiries;
  • to address all appeals and reviews in a timely and effective manner;
  • to increase awareness and acceptance of the appeals and review process; and
  • to contribute to improved recruitment selection and human resource management throughout the NTPS.

Mission

  • develop, implement and evaluate policies and strategies to provide effective, impartial and independent appeals functions and review of employee grievances;
  • foster selection in accordance with the merit principle; and
  • encourage fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
