Employee Assistance Program
The Northern Territory Government offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all its employees and their immediate family members.
The EAP is a professional, confidential counselling service that is available free of charge and usually involves between three and five sessions. Under the EAP counsellors use a short-term solution orientated model to offer strategies and support to employees and their immediate family members who are experiencing personal concerns or work related issues. The one hour appointments can be made during or outside of normal work hours. For appointments during normal work hours employees need to notify their direct manager of their absence.
