HR is everyone’s business
The Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment held a HR Forum on Tuesday 20 November 2007 at SkyCity Casino, with over 80 HR and non-HR practitioners attending. Non-HR practitioners were encouraged to attend and gain a better understanding of current issues and initiatives.

(Click on image for larger version) During the HR capacity discussion, groups were asked to identify skills shortages in the HR area. The top ten responses were similar from all and included:
- Communication skills
- Strategic Planning skills
- Client focused
- Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of IR
- Performance Management
- Negotiation

The next Forum will focus on ‘Recruitment’ based on the feedback received.
