Workforce Capacity

Like all contemporary organisations, developing workforce capacity is critical to the NTPS.  We know that our people are our greatest asset.

Developing skills and fostering a philosophy of lifelong learning in our existing workforce will be the key in overcoming labour market challenges such as skills shortages, an ageing workforce and changing societal values.

Policies and programs

OCPE, as the statutory employer of all NTPS employees, has a central role in developing sector wide policies to meet tomorrow’s challenges.  The links on the right will provide more information on some of our existing cutting edge policies and programs.

OCPE have established guidelines on mobility/exchange and mentoring.  Both of these worthy initiatives can be undertaken individually or as part of a formal structured program.

Guidelines for young people entering the NTPS are set through the New Apprenticeship Guidelines (NTPS) and the CBAT Competency Standards.  There is also a Graduate Development Program Policy.
