Discovery - Women as leaders 2008

What is Discovery?

The Northern Territory Public Sector Discovery - Women as Leaders Program (Discovery) is a unique personal and professional development opportunity for women.  The Program is designed to help women develop greater confidence (including confidence in valuing their own backgrounds and cultures), learn leadership skills and build valuable support and business networks.

Discovery should be considered as an investment in a learning experience that will provide individuals and organisations with immediate and long-term benefits. Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on contemporary leadership practices and change the way they view themselves and their career opportunities.

Who participates in Discovery?

Discovery is aimed at highly motivated women currently working as supervisors, front-line managers, coordinators, project managers or in similar roles across the NTPS.

Where will Discovery be held in 2008?

The Discovery Program will be held in both Darwin and Alice Springs.

Nominations for the Alice Springs Program close COB Friday, 8 August 2008.

What will Discovery cost?

The program fee for Discovery is $2890.00 excluding GST (based on 22 participants).

Is there funding for employees from remote locations?

Funding could be available under the Remote Workforce Development Strategy to cover the program fee, and travel and accommodation costs for employees from remote locations. The level of financial support will depend on the number of nominations from remote employees.
