By-laws

The Public Sector Employment and Management By-laws are made by the Commissioner and generally relate to conditions of employment matters (such  as general leave provisions), including those for Compulsory Transferees.

It should be noted that 99% of NTPS employees now have a Workplace/Enterprise agreement which replaces the By-laws for certain entitlements such as Sick (Personal) Leave, Bereavement (Compassionate) Leave and Maternity (Parental) Leave. Any Workplace or Enterprise Agreement will take precedence of the provisions in the By-Laws in the case of inconsistency. As such, employees should refer to their relevant Agreement in the first instance.
