Working in the NTPS
Changes to PSEMA now in force
This web page has been set up to provide information to all NTPS employees on the recently implemented changes to the Public Sector Employment and Management Act. The Act regulates the employment of all NTPS employees, including Chief Executive Officers.
From 1 January 2012 a range of amendments to the Act and its subordinate legislation (the Regulations, By-laws and Employment Instructions) came into force. These amendments were designed to modernise and improve human resource practice and policy across the NTPS. Implementation of the changes follow a wide ranging review of the Act in 2009 which considered submissions from NTPS employees, CEOs, unions, other public bodies and the general public.
These improvements will benefit all of us and help us to continue to provide excellent services to the people of the NT into the future.
For more information about the review see Review of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act (PSEMA)

An Employee Information Sheet has been issued providing a summary of the key changes to the legislation, and a series of information sessions for employees were conducted by the OCPE in Darwin, Casuarina, Palmerston, Katherine and Alice Springs covering the information contained in the Employee Information Sheet. Some agency specific information sessions, covering the same information, were also conducted.
