Time Frame
The selection process is dependent on the selection advisory panel and is conducted as soon as possible. All agencies have been advised to endeavour to complete processes in as short a time frame as possible.
Successful applicants
Once a selection is made by the panel and approved by the Chief Executive Officer or delegate, the successful applicant is advised and a letter formally offering the job is sent to them. If the selection outcome is a provisional promotion (an NTPS employee) the successful applicant is advised that the selection is subject to a 14 day appeal period.
Unsuccessful applicants
Applicants who have not been successful will be advised in writing. This letter will include details about obtaining feedback from the panel and any appeal rights.
Getting feedback from the panel
Post-selection feedback is an integral part of the selection process and is available to all applicants. Applicants are encouraged to ask for post-selection feedback to provide an understanding of the panels assessment in relation to the selection criteria. Feedback should provide applicants with information about their suitability for the positon and the reasons for selection or non-selection, including comparison with the successful applicant.
What if I am unsatisfied with the selection process?
If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of the selection process you should first contact the selection advisory panel to seek further information and to discuss your options.
Applicants may seek advice from the agency Human Resource contact or from OCPE Promotion Appeals & Grievance Review unit.
